Introduction
The mobile phone industry has been flooded with a huge array of Windows based smartphones which all seem to be variations on a theme and not hugely different from one another. With high profile companies leading the way, such as HTC, bringing in new features such as larger integrated touch screens, rivalling companies need to respond. In the past this was done with the addition of extra features that are supposed to maximise the user experience but in all truth for the last few years, many phones have been incredibly similar.
Enter Acer, a company which has, before now, been very computer orientated and excelled in the netbook and laptop era, has decided to enter the smartphone fray. Their first product – the DX900 – has, besides others, one very exciting feature that has not yet been fully explored – dual SIM compatibility.
Previously this feature has only been available on a select few phones; unfortunately those with it have often been poor quality products and so the concept of dual SIMs is yet to be fully exploited.
Acer hopes that the DX900 will be a sure fire hit but the amount of consumers who are actually looking for dual SIM functionality is likely to be a small minority. With this in mind, can Acer still produce a phone which warrants purchase using just a single SIM card?

I have had that problem with smart phones i have owned before like this. The battery has gone within a day but my iPhone 3G seems to hold the record for its battery life. I think maybe the windows mobile os is too demanding and drains them of their power.
Yea,
.
The battery life wasn’t good, you’re probably right ut i think Windows have a new Mobile OS so maybe that will be better. I want to have a look at Google’s Android OS too
That’s where HTC phones have their market advantage. The battery on mine lasts for ages, I hardly ever turn the phone off nor never really charge it.
I have a list of problems:
1. Wifi is not always working although connect – i.e. satellite date update – cannot update
2. Compass – not function even with wifi connection
3. when in devise lock, after awhile, when click on the saver button, it says “Closed” when click on “Closed” no response need to fiddle and touch every where until the “unlock” screen came out.
4. when insert 3g sim card in slot one, the phone hanged
5. battery goes flat within 5 hours
6. the gravity sensor doesnt work 70% of the time, u can put it upright, but the screen still side ways.
7. unable to customise ringtone to mp3 music
8. unable to increase the text of internet
I have some problems too!
I solve the battery problem using the patch file from acer site.
But.
The phone is too slow!
Some times the phone stack!
Some other time when I receive a phone call, its stop ringing and only vibrate!
When I close the phone the alarm is not working!
The big problem is the gravity sensor. Problematic 100%! So I don’t using this function.
and how about this new dual sim holder platinum from simore, that work in 3G networks and fit in all mobiles including iphone, have U heard about it?

hahaha i have 3g iphone dual sim MADE IN CHINA working good till now (3months)
Mine is a unique problem if anyone can help do mail me the solution, in acer dx 900 the slot 1 sim works fine but slot 2sim has a network problem…..u keep on feeling the blank gaps between conversations untill the opposite caller gets annoyed and hangs up your call.. what to do?
I was almost done paying USD 600- for DX900- thoday in Dxb.However after reading the above comments I have changed my mind as seems Microsoft is charging too much for its Brand.
However must admit I am using latest Samsung D980 dual SIM phone, and it has also problems too but very minor.
