Scythe’s very thing Shuriken CPU Cooler has just had a revamp and, at the same time, been scaled up slightly in order to satisfy users who require more cooling potential in their desktop PCs or HTPCs. The new cooler has a 120mm fan and is very compact coming in at 405g and a height of 58mm.
The 120mm slip stream fan can spin at between 650 and 1600RPM producing a maximum airflow of 38GFM. The noise levels too depend on the fan speed but the max is 28.89dBA. These aren’t the best statistics in the world but they aren’t bad; in any case you can mount a different 120mm fan.
In terms of compatablity, the new cooler supports all of the following sockets: Intel Socket 478/LGA775/LGA1366 and AMD Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3. A price tag of $35 has been thrown around which seems reasonable and shouldn’t break the bank.
