MSI’s newer 9800GT cards are marketed as being much ‘greener’ than their previous design and do not require PCI-e powr connections but do have dual slot cooling.
The two cards which have been mundanely codenamed N9800GT-MD512 and N9800GT-MD1G feature 112 Steam processes, 256-bit memory interface, SLI support and DVI and HDMI outputs. However, due to not having the PCI-e connection, the cards have lower clocks running at a stock of 550MHz for the GPU, 1375MHz for the shaders and 1800MHZ for the memory which is either 512MB or 1GB of GDDR3.
No pricing of availability information has been released to date but the cards are expected to retail soon.
