Launch of Nintendo DSi Proves Very Successful

With the launch of Nintendo’s latest games consoles – the DSi – the initial sales have been very impressive with 600,000 units sold already. 300,000 of these can in North America in the first two days after the launch with the rest going in Europe over the same time period.

Due to the high sales figures, Nintendo has said that it intends to keep the price of both the DSi and the Wii constant and not introduce any price drops in the near future. There reasons for doing this are that they are already the lowest priced consoles on the market out of the main competitors and so expect consumers to go for them over the others. However, in the previous month the PS3 outsold the Wii so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top at Easter.
