AMD Launches Phenom II TWKR for Overclockers

With exclusive products such as the Cooler Master Black Label and Asus GTX295 which had a limited amount produced, AMD have decided to go down a similar route. However, their new exclusive processor, the AMD Phenom II X4 42 Black Edition TWKR will only be made 100 times and these will then be given out to the best overclockers out there.

AMD’s reason for doing this is to reward the chosen overclockers for their supports and encourage them to push the overclock even further. However, with only 100 being made, the CPU will surely go down in history as one of the rarest.

Rumours floating around before the launch thought that TWKR could be some sort of “tweaker” but supposed it stands for “those who know” which is a little bizarre. Also, the 42 in the name doesn’t refer to anything and is a reference to the meaning of life in Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
